Conclusion

Result

Normal examination

No mass, cyst, or calcification was identified in either lobe or the isthmus. The nodule that prompted the study was not confirmed sonographically.

Findings
StructureDimensionsEchotextureMass / Cyst / Calcification
Right Lobe 4.7 × 1.7 × 1.9 cm Homogeneous None visible
Left Lobe 3.4 × 1.0 × 1.1 cm Homogeneous None visible
Isthmus 0.3 cm thick None visible
Note on asymmetry: The right lobe is measurably larger than the left (4.7 × 1.7 × 1.9 cm vs 3.4 × 1.0 × 1.1 cm). Lobe asymmetry of this degree is a common normal variant, and the radiologist reported the study as normal. Both lobes were homogeneous with no discrete lesion.
